GSA’s Integrated Award Environment (IAE) is looking for people who use the SAM.gov website to participate in user testing. There are two types of testing: usability testing and user acceptance testing.

Usability Testing

Usability testing involves you and IAE staff who work on SAM.gov walking through a specific feature that is being improved to show us how real, live users respond to the site. We need many perspectives to be sure we have heard from the diverse types of people and organizations who use SAM.gov for their work.

By testing, you’ll get a preview of some of the site improvements that are being considered for release in the coming 12–18 months. You’ll also be able to give your input on what the site does and how it looks and feels. We love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Your test results and comments are provided directly to the teams developing and designing the SAM.gov feature you tested.

Tests usually take 30 minutes or less and are conducted via a casual web call.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

We give UAT volunteers scripts to test various scenarios relating to a specific feature or functionality that is being improved. Your input and feedback help us learn what users think of the site and catch any bugs before the changes are released to the production site.

UAT testers get a preview of some of the site improvements that are being planned for release in the coming months. Your test results and comments go directly to the developers and designers who created the SAM.gov feature you tested.

Tests usually take 20 minutes or less and are conducted independently and at your own pace.
